The National Cadet Corps (NCC) observed the 73rd anniversary of its raising on November 28, 2021. NCC is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces and the largest uniformed youth organisation in the world.

Omicron COVID variant was first detected in South Africa and now the nation is facing a travel ban from several countries including the US, Canada, UK and many other European nations. Experts fear that the travel curbs are being imposed too late as most likely the virus has already spread to other parts of the world.

Norovirus has reportedly infected 57 people including 54 students and three workers in a hostel of St. Mary’s College, Thrissur. The health officials suspect that the virus must have spread through food or drinking water. This is the first time that the norovirus infection has been reported in Thrissur.
